Wow...people get pretty defensive about things they may enjoy, but have absolutely no creative responsibility for --like movies, sports teams' success, organic food.

I liked your entry, but I have to say I thought the directing was pretty innovative given the whole "how can we get people to care more about the charactors in a monster movie and play on people's own fears of being in a natural disaster" kind of way. This, of course, depends upon the viewer to suspend their disbelief that a home video camera could last so long (presumably 8 hrs) filming (plus however long with a light). That's NEVER been my experience.

Once people love certain things so much, it appears they become blind and see only what they want to see. I've received my fair share of hatred towards my remarks towards the film and mine weren't nearly as bad as these people thought they were. Your entry isn't hard to follow. I got it. How come that kid couldn't understand it?

Firstly, i'm not a dude (though, i don't mind being called one. "dude" is preferable). Secondly, I certainly bring up the very mobile camerawork in Cloverfield, but I never cited it as a reason for my liking or not liking the film.

The paragraph starts off with "Aside from the virtually constant shaking, rattling, and rolling (narratively justified or not), what really bothered me about the film (and which ultimately makes it intellectually appetizing) is that there were no traditional reverse-shots."

I should clarify that I wasn't keen on how the whirling camera made my eyes feel--so personally, I could've enjoyed less of it. But, it didn't annoy me the way the absence of reverse-shots did. I may not have "liked" nonstop-camera-moving, but I understand why it was implemented.

dude no offence but you're an idiot. blare witch was filmed like that for a reason cloverfield was filmed like this for a reason. just beacause your to much of an idiot to see what that reason is dosnt give you the right to just make stuff up. if the camera moved to much for you your a puss. if there was somthing you couldnt make out beacause of the way it moved that means the director didnt whant you to.they didnt WANT the camera to be still.
