I was flipping through the channels on the television tonight and I saw an ad for Leatherheads. I hadn’t seen this particular one before. The male voice-over narrator began by saying something along the lines of “Before (there was) instant replay, before (there were) yellow flags, before (there were) helmets, there were leatherheads.“

Each clause was paired with pertinent imagery. This variation of the movie promo didn’t suggest any romantic subplot. I can’t locate the one I’m talking about just now, but click here for all youtube vids related to a “Leatherheads trailer” search.

The movie comes out this Friday, April 4th. I’ll be watching it. Expect an entry on it by Sunday night.
