Organizing DVDs by alphabetical order within genre, auteur, actor, storyline, or theme groupings is logical but so ordinary. If I could re-arrange the DVDs in the media section of a retail store, I would categorize them according to their cover art:
Faces – close-ups of faces

Foreground - images are the focus of the art (could be any number of objects at any shot scale)

Four Square

Medium Trios - medium close-ups of people with or without other background/foreground images

Group Shot

Cat Walk - think “group shot” but with momentum

Minimalist

Horizontal Bars

Horizontal Halves

Vertical Halves

ah…but aren’t you torn with Casino Royale and A Perfect Murder? – couldnt the former go in catwalk and the latter in trios?
Now, of course, I’m going to do it with mine….it’s going to take forever!
I originally had Casino Royale in the Cat walk, next to Quantum of Solace, but CR has too much imagery on the right side. If it were only the car, or Daniel Craig’s feet were visible, I’d have put it in Cat walk.
Michael Douglas’s face in A Perfect Murder is in close-up. Gwyneth Paltrow and Viggo Mortensen are in medium shot. I interpret those images as left/right and along a vertical axis.
“……If I could re-arrange the DVDs in the media section of a retail store……”
Bientôt ce sera hypothétique parce que les magasins de DVD deviennent licencié. Netflix est l’avenir.
Je n’ai vu presque aucun des films dans ton catalogue. Le dernière film que j’ai vu était “Midnight in Paris”. Totalement enchanteur.
As much as I like to go on Amazon.com and do searches of actors and directors I like, and then go on Youtube to look up trailers for films soon to be or already released on DVD, I like browsing shelves and rows of actual DVDs.
I haven’t seen all of the films up there either.
