Catch of the Spider Woman

i dreamed i was in a big bathroom
sitting on the floor against the tub

and there was a young girl there, early teens just hanging out
i was sitting near a trash can
And a middle-aged woman, motherly type, came in
with a wadded up tissue and a small brown spider on it
still crawling around…and she came to the trashcan near me and put the tissue in it

without making sure the tissue was farther down
and the spider crawled back out
i recall a twinge of panic.
but i couldnt move.
or simply didnt move.

the bathroom looked like cream and strawberries..very light pink.
the girl and the woman were both very familiar
nurturing figures
It does sound like a short story

dirty blonde hair
both of them.

the girl didnt really have a face
but the woman looked a bit like Jane Curtin, who was on SNL in the 70s

When she was going over to the trashcan, she put the tissue especially near my face and i saw the spider up close
I remember listening to my discman in my dream (which i also was doing outside of my dream)
and my “waking” self was “get it away!” but in the dream, it wasnt a big deal.

Since other people in our dreams are really ourselves, the woman and the girl in your dream were you, or at least aspects of you.

The antiseptic controlling cleanliness of the bathroom was in contrast with the “dirty blonde” hair of both the woman and the girl, and with the spider, and with the trashcan (which would contain garbage and dirt).

But the spider (uncontrolled raw nature) was not to be suppressed or killed. It crawled back out of the trashcan, thus bringing balance to the otherwise life-denying controlling cleanliness of the bathroom, as did the presence of the middle-aged motherly woman.

Raw uncontrolled nature, and dirt, and uncontrollably tender (motherly) feelings, ultimately find their way into our lives, no matter how antisceptically (controllingly) we deny (suppress) them.

This analysis is free. Normally I charge.

Merci beaucoup! C’est une interpretation tres interessante.

Speaking of la salle de bains, to detour onto le sujets des toilettes, I’ve had recurring dreams in the last year of searching for a decent toilet but not being able to find one.

      According to this site,
o dream that you are in the bathroom, relates to your instinctual urges. You may be experiencing some burdens/feelings and need to “relieve yourself”. Alternatively, a bathroom symbolizes purification and self-renewal. You need to cleanse yourself, both emotionally and psychologically.

To dream that you are in a public restroom with no stalls or that there are a lot of people around while you are trying to do your business, signifies your frustrations about getting enough privacy. You are always putting others ahead of your own needs. As a result, you are lacking a sense of personal space. Alternatively, the dream indicates that you are having difficulties letting go of old emotions. You are afraid that if you reveal these feelings, then others around you will judge and criticize you.

To dream that you can not find the bathroom, signifies that you are have difficulties in releasing and expressing your emotions.

It makes sense to me. Whatever I needed to release or express was buried so deep in my unconscious that the only way it could find an avenue of escape was through tension headaches, tense neck and shoulders, worsened teeth grinding, and dreams of not being able to find a clean toilet.

I’m addressing the balance between mind-body-spirit now. Hopefully the tension will lessen with time.

In a sane person, the dream state may leave one baffled but it always clears up, i.e., the fear of the spider in real life vs the acceptance of it in the dream state. I’m not sure I agree with the bathroom as an analogy though: when I dream of a bathroom, it usually means my bladders full.
